Raising Ravens hit The Duke in Enmore on Saturday night before Jess heads OS for a bit. Also on the bill tonight were local rabble raisers Lady Lazarus and Blake Williams.

I managed to get to the Duke just as Lady Lazarus kicked off a set full of chaos, with some righteous down and dirty punk rock – complete with a few crowd excursions to keep the punters on their toes.

Raising Ravens

With a new(ish) lineup for the band off the back of their recently released EP Motives, Jess Finlayson was backed up by a powerhouse of old mates Skarlett Saramore (drums) and Suzanne Rex (bass & harmonies).

The band was match fit after their recent tour of their new release smashing out a powerful set that got the room steamy on a cold Sydney winter night. There were plenty of chunky riffs, smashed drum skins, complete with flying drum sticks and some sweet harmonies that rounded out the dark tunes.
