Rock n roll punk royalty, The Victims gave it one last tour to the east coast and gave us their last ever gig at Crowbar, Sydney. I caught them, supported by local east coasters Chimers and Hellebores.
Hellebores
Hellebores started off the night right with some snappy melodic rock n roll punk to get the floor bouncing.

Check out what makes them tick here.
Chimers
Chimers kept the warmed up crowd hot while a storm raged outside. The two piece powerhouse were obviously very gig fit, with lots of recent touring under their belt. They never missed a beat with thunderous drums, frenetic guitar that just demands attention and vocals that were delivered with a healthy dose of angst and spit.

Stalk them here and if you haven’t yet, get thee to a live gig.
The Victims
The crowd was full of die-hard fans and plenty of local (and not so local) who’s who of band members to see off the end of an era.

The legend that is James Baker was looking a little wobbly getting onto the drum throne, but once he was settled in, he switched into rock n roll punk drummer mode and started bashing out a power packed set.

Dave Faulkner and Ray Ahn picked their corner and cranked out 22 short fast loud tunes that were lapped up by an appreciative crowd. From Victim to Television Addict, 22 songs later, it was an unrelenting set with a whole bunch of stomping and sing alongs from the crowd, who knew every lyric.

There was even a guest spot from Blackie of the Hard Ons slinging a bit of guitar to beef up the already super beefy sounds.

A brief stop to soak up a bit of sweat & then an emotion full encore of Chinese Rock, Perth is a Culture Shock and Disco Junkie to end the night in a cacophony of sound.

Job done. Check them out full flight in their heyday here.
