Teenage Joans – Factory Theatre

Teenage Joans celebrated their new album The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest at the Factory Theatre tonight with besties Bella Amor and Aleksiah.

Aleksiah

Fronting her 4 piece band, Aleksiah started off the night by launching straight into a bit of gritty, energetic pop.

There was a growing crowd of fans flocked at the front of the stage that absolutely lapped up her sweet banter – full of effusive thanks for the crowd coming early to see her and for the rest of the nights acts.

Bella Amor

Next up was Bella Amor, who bounced out onto the stage with her bouncy 3 piece band resplendent in their race car overalls.

Truckloads of energy on stage, with Bella running around, bouncing from one side to another to the funky, pop laden tunes encouraging the crowd to have a little dance and sing a long.

Teenage Joans

After a bit of stage transformation into a forest floor, fairy wonderland – think huge blow up mushrooms, plenty of greenery and fairy lights wrapped around every object in sight – Teenage Joans appeared and launched straight into a raunchy version of Hospital Bed.

There were a few technical issues that plagued the night, mostly guitar pedals refusing to cooperate that added a little fluster to the show, but as true pros, Cahli and Tahlia banged on to deliver a night of energetic pop punk, much to the adoring young crowd’s delight.

There was a small interlude of acoustic versions of Wine and Money Money Money, quickly followed up by a power packed version of crowd pleaser, Terrible – complete with plenty of jumpy guitar antics.
